Nancy Conescu grew up in New Orleans in a house brimming with books and moved to New York to work in children’s publishing. She began her career as an assistant at Penguin Books for Young Readers in the paperback and mass market divisions. She then jumped at the chance to move into trade publishing at Little, Brown Books for Young Readers. Nancy worked her way up to Senior Editor at Little, Brown before she moved back to Penguin as Executive Editor of Dial Books for Young Readers. She then relocated to Sydney, Australia with her family. There, she worked at Walker Books Australia as Executive Commissioning Editor and then at award-winning independent publishing house Berbay, first as Associate Publisher and most recently as Publisher.

Nancy thrives on bringing out the best work in her creators. She enjoys seeing the world as an editor and looking for sources of inspiration in other forms of art, journalism, and travel—anything to ensure that the books she edits are visually and intellectually engaging from cover to cover.
